Well, finally a update, been really tired, busy and lazy this few months. Lots of things happened which i couldn't recall all but my collection is growing and some gone too . I'm currently working on a few breeding project right now and designing a new layout for my new website which will probably be done by the end of this year (Hopefully). This new website will include caresheet, gallery, for sale/trade, blog, contact etc page.

My Hottentotta Hottentotta just make it to 2nd generation with both surviving specimen giving birth. At the same time I'm waiting for my Centruroides margaritatus, Centruroides balsasensis, Centruroides vittatus, Hadogenes pauciden, Lychas scutilus, Lychas mucronatus and Rhophalurus junceus to pop. Once they pop and i have a stable stock of their offspring, all of this species will be up for sale soon ;)

Oh ya, my junceus from the previous mating pop-ed 5 babies, one was eaten by her and the other 4 are currently in 4i now

Leopard Gecko breeding report

Bought a male High Yellow gecko from a friend few days ago and decided to breed him with my female gecko

I didn't research much on their genetic so i pick the same morph to avoid screwing up their morph/gene/whatever

Honestly, i don't think people will write a breeding report for them (At least i haven't seen one yet) but getting used to writing a breeding report, here's it lol

Temperature: 31C

Humidity: 80%

Duration: Approx 30min

I began by putting the male into the female enclosure and just wait and observe what happen

I waited for more than 15 min, but the male show no interest at all

The female on the other hand, stalked him and start licking his legs and tail but he just ran away from her

Getting bored, i decided to leave them at a corner and observe them from far while watching television

After 5min, the male started to vibrate his tail and approach the female with a bite on her tail

Frankly speaking i was quite worry as the bite looks really painful but the female remain calm until he move on to her neck

She got annoyed and tried to bite him back but fail, the male continue sticking his dingdong into her and the process end quickly after that

I can see when she ''came'' he closed his eyes just like human when they reach climax lol

Right after the process end they started to groom themself and i separated them, nothing much to write

Rhopalurus Junceus breeding report

I got this Rhopalurus Junceus from the same friend who gave me his male mucronatus at the same night

It's suppose to be a female but when i tried to sex it when i got home i realize it is a male!

I was so happy because everyone have been looking for a male and i thought i will never find it anymore :(

All the waiting ends on that nightt when i finally got to breed her :D

Temperature: 32C

Humidity: 80%

Duration: Approx 20min

Same as the mucronatus earlier, i put the female in and left her for 5min before putting in the male

At 1st they both show no interest for each others and just running around and hiding below the bark i provided

I tried to guide the male to the female several times before he sense her pheromone and started juddering

The female was very receptive, perhaps she can't stand being virgin anymore lol

She just let him grab her and dance around peacefully without any tension

Nothing much happened there, process ended after 20min dancing around and as usual, they are stinging each others so i gotta separate them right after the mate

Lychas Mucronatus brood update

Well they all died, on approx 2nd day after i separated them

The only reason i can think of is that i removed them too early from the mom (Before they even leave their mom's back)

I admit i'm a dick but i was too eager to count their numbers, i actually did the same to most of my scorpion brood

(Well, that might explain why i have so many weak hottentotta hottentotta brood back then)

Good things is this species are known to breed like rabbit and have very short gestation period

I acquired a male from a friend of mine after a few days to re-mate them

The male is quite small compare to my deceased one but he was so aggressive when they are mating lol

Here's the breeding report

Temperature: 31C

Humidity: 80%

Duration: Approx 25min

I started by putting the female in the breeding container and mist the container a lil bit since her container was quite dried

I left her there for 5min before putting in the male

Upon sensing the female's pheromone, the male started juddering like a dildo thirsting for pussy however the female doesn't looks very interested with him

She just keep drinking water droplet on the container wall and the male started to grab her by her tail, legs and body and forcing himself on her

This situation lasted for around 10min before the male manage to grab her chela

He then quickly gave her a jab to calm her down and they both begin dancing around for approx another 10min before dropping his spermatophore

Among all the species i have bred, they are the only one that ended the mating process peacefully without trying to kill each others

The male was so tired after the ''release'', he lie down with his chela and metasoma flat on the substrate lol

New Leopard Gecko

I adopted a High Yellow Leopard Gecko from Billy 2days ago because he can no longer take care of her

She is the prettiest high yellow morph that i ever seen although she have lose her tail before, few years back due to a fight in a mating attempt but the tail grows back nicely (At least to me :p)

I was told she is a adult and should be around 4years old and can live up to 15years if being taken care well

I do hope i have the chance to breed her in the future although she is just a normal high yellow, but i love high yellow more than those designer morph

I got two adult Lychas Mucronatus pair from Rafiqos on 11 February 2010, both have some white color egg like thing on them

I originally got 2pair but i gave one pair to another friend to let him get rid of those eggs like things on them

I used vaseline and dip away those eggs and it seems to be working quite well but the male died shortly after

Maybe i overdid with the vaseline or he die of other factors

Before that, i tried mating them but they was reluctant to mate so i left them both in their communal enclosure and concluded that the female might be gravid since she is quite plump

A few weeks after the male departed, the female gave birth, a large brood

She was all covered by babies, i roughly counted them and estimated that i have at least 30 babies

I misted the container everyday and on the 3rd day, they all molted to 2instar

One dead on substrate and the mom eaten it, the others are doing very well, clinging on the mom until the 2nd day

I counted them and i was right, i got 31 babies :D

I rehoused them all in individual small delicup container with a cork bark and one managed to escaped when i accidentally dropped the container =(

It ran behind my shelf and i was too tired to remove it and just continue rehousing the others

The next day i decided to remove the shelf and see if its still there and to my surprise, it's indeed still clinging on the shelf

I tried to cup it with a container and accidentally crushed one of it's chela =(

It's still active despite of the chela but to my surprise, the chela seems tto be working fine on the next day

Nothing much to write since the female was already pregnant when i got her so here's some pictures

The worst day in my invert hobby

9 March 2010, I was sooooo happy on this day, I got 3 mantis (Dead leave mantis, Orchid mantis and a Flower mantis) and 3 new scorpion (1.2 Centruroides Gracilis)

When i got back home on that day, i found that two of the female gracilis are dying!

Their legs are both curved in and lifeless, perhaps its due to the bad packaging method by the sender

I was told he flooded the container and the parcel was delayed for a week+ so perhaps they cant make it through the harsh environment.....

Ok, nvm, went to sleep and forget bout it

10 March 2010, i woke up and found my orchid mantis DEAD!!! Just freaking dead for no reason in one night!

She was so active and normal when i got her, she even eaten a mealworm!

I don't know is it because i forgot to make ventilation holes for her but as i know they can survive for quite sometimes without ventilation holes because we can send them through postage like inverts

I check on the scorpions and other mantis, looks normal and one of the female gracilis dead and the male dying....

I went to work, i came back and guess what? All scorpion and the flower mantis DEAD!!!! God damm it!

I was so frustrated on that day, its the worst day i ever been through ever since i start keeping exotics

One of the dead gracilis looks prego so i dissect her to see if there's any embryo inside her or not but i found nothing

Others i just put in fridge to preserve them, they ll be make into taxidermy in the future

Well, to make it worst, my balsasensis babies molted to 2instar but only 5 out of 10 make it through

They just died and drop on substrate after molted, i have no idea why, both humidity and temperature was around the same as the 1st batch when they molted

I already can't feel anything when i saw them, my mind was blank and just accepted it =(

Update of my Centruroides Balsasensis

It have been awhile, all of my 1st batch of Centruroides Balsasensis have molted to 3instar

So far 7died/missing (1missing, a few died of dehydration and one or two from cannibalism)

At 1st i wanted to keep them communally but it seems like it's not doing very well so i decided to separate all of them and they are doing much better after that

Their setup are easy, only some coco fiber as substrate and a piece of vertical cork bark

I feed them once or twice every week depending on my cricket stock and lightly mist one of the corner everytime i feed them

Though, the adult prefer to live in dry environment but the babies need more moisture to survive and molt properly from what i observe

That's because everytime i mist, i notice all of them will started to drink from the water droplet

Perhaps i will add water dish in each of them once they are big enough

Aside from that, one of my C.Balsasensis gave me another brood of 10 3days ago

It's a small brood compare to the previous batch but i'm not disappointed as i have two more gravid one

After having a tough time removing all the babies from the mother in the 1st batch as they all was hiding in small gap in the bark, i rehouse the mom with the brood on her back to another container consisting of plain substrate with some cork bark for hide

This way the babies wont have much hiding place to hide and i can get them removed easily

Centruroides Margaritatus Breeding report

Temperature: Approx 29-31ºC
Relative Humidity: Approx 70-80%
Duration: Approx 8-10minutes

It's only third day since my female C.Margaritatus molted to adulthood and i got her mated today cause i'm getting impatient

I begin by putting the female into a large container full of coco fiber with 2 piece of flat surface and let her run around in the container and drop her pheromone

After around 5minutes, i put the male inside and he begin to juddering like mad instantly
I don't even need to guide him to the female, he just walk to her while juddering and straight away grab her by her tail and gave her a stung her to calm her down

The male then started to hold her hand and the dance begin
He cant seems to find the flat surface as the container they are in was too big (I did this so that the male have more space to escape after the mating) so i took the flat bark and put it behind them
Soon enough, they are both dancing about on the bark and started kissing

The male's front legs are vibrating as well and i observed a strange behavior which i have never read nor heard bout it before
The male pull the female up and stick his front legs below the female pectines and start stimulating her pectines
I'm not sure why it happened but it last bout 10sec before he put her down, dance again and repeat it for around 10timesAfter awhile finally he laid down a spermatorphore and dragged the female on it
As soon as the female took it, they started to sting each others and i stop them with tweezer and remove both of them

Now i just need to wait and observed to see if the mating was successful or not

Sorry guys, i have been real busy, tired and lazy lately

A lot of time when i wanted to update my blog my internet line was slow like a slowpoke and i cant upload any photo and decided to try again another day and that alone delayed until now...

Ok so what happened during the period where i didn't update my blog was:

1. I got a new DSLR camera! D3000 with a +10 Macro lens

- Bro bought it and asked me to share, well i don't have a choice but this is definitely be great. Check out my new flickr album

2. All of my Centruroides Balsasensis molted to 3instar!

- Only 6left due to cannibalism and dehydration, i separated them and they all molted in a few days =D

3. Bought some new scorpion and a Tarantula

- A gravid Leiurus Quinquestriatus (With some heavy mycosis infection)

- A pair of adult Lychas Mucronatus (Sadly the male died yesterday, but the female looks gravid)

- A pair of Babycurus Jacksoni (Both died after a while zzzz)

- A Tityus Stigmurus (Death on arrival)

- A Psalmopoeus Irminia

- Ok, in the end i only got 2 new scorpion up till now... Fuck my life....

4. Sold my Mesobuthus Martensii to make space for my growing collection

- They all went to a good home :)

5. More molt

- Hottentotta Hottentotta (6instar), Centruroides Margaritatus (8instar) x2, Pterinochilus Murinus, Lasiodora Parahybana, Holothele Incei, Cyclosternum Fasciatum, Cyriopagopus Schiodtei and Psalmopoeus Irminia

Centruroides Balsasensis Breeding Report

I purchased 4.4.0 C.Balsasensis on 25 OCTOBER 2009 for a mass breeding project. I was told 2 of them are already gravid but i'm not sure which one as they all looks the same size. I noticed the 1st mating on the 1st night i got them, 2 males are fighting over a female on a log i put in the enclosure

I left them over night and found a spermatophore at the next morning and i have never witness any mating nor found any spermatophore since then

Several weeks later i noticed one of the female is bloated up and faint reddish embryo are visible on the side of her pleural membrane and separated her in another container

Around 3weeks later, 7 DECEMBER 2009, i woke up in the morning and found 2 babies trying to climb on her back
She was all covered with babies within 2hours and was munching down underdeveloped eggs after i finish my breakfast. Rough estimation around 15 healthy babies was born

The other 3 female have visible faint reddish embryo visible too and i separated all of them from the communal tank and expecting more brood from them very soon

Some are molting when i checked on them It took approx 5hours for all of them to molt to 2instar. It's amazing to see them hanging and molting upside down. At 1st i thought they ll fall on the substrate to complete the molt but their climb back on the mom's back to pull out the metasoma part instead

Yesterday was the launching of pets ownership in Jaya One, Palm Square and we was invited to exhibit our inverts and give a talk bout care and tips for invert pets

Overall it's a nice event with lots of crowd and booth, but not much of them are interested with inverts

It's sad when no one is listening while our representative are giving the talk but i salute his courage to continue talking till the end

Met up with a lot new people, cats, dogs, turtles and other inverts lol

Aside from that, I got the chance to learn how to use a 3ccd cam corder and it's really awesome!

Animal Wonder Exhibition@ Seremban2

There was a small exhibition yesterday in Seremban2 and we was invited to exhibit our arachnid by Darren

The journey to the venue is really long and bored, it tooks me around 2hours to reach the destination using public commuter

I brought a Leiurus Quinquestriatus, a Pandinus Carvimanus (for sale) and my colony of 7Centruroides Balsasensis to be display there

Upon arriving, the 1st thing in my mind was this place is HOT!

The exhibition was held in a open area with a small event tent for our booth

The crowd was good, a lot of people was there but not much stop by and ask questions

Most of them just come and have a few peek and went away

Some even pulling their childrens to prevent them from getting near to us

Like usual, a freak show instead of a education exhibition

One thing that always happen when u are doing an exhibition is that u always met up with funny people

People who think they know those inverts we displayed better than us

No, i'm not saying that we are the only one that understand them but they are really arrogant and have no idea of what they are talking about

A old man in his 80s wearing a pair of big old fashion glasses with a tough guy in his 30s wearing a green color shirt came to us and claim that they are the scorpion and centipede king and start bragging how great they are in the past and saying the way we keep our inverts are all wrong

The old man aka the centipede king even claim that kissing a king cobra trick is outdated and he swallow the whole king cobra like how they swallow a sword

Perhaps the king cobra he meant was the one hiding in the so call scorpion king's pants

12 October 2009

Today i mated both of my P.Imperator again, being convinced that the mating was unsuccessful previously by a friend

This time the female doesn't show much aggression as last time

The male was pushing for a mating dance while the female just keep moving backward but at last was forced into position by the male

Immediately both exchange sting, i used a tweezer to prevent the female from stinging the male until the male finish stinging her

Both was dancing around and the male drop spermatophore not long after that

This time the female stayed on it longer than last time, aprrox 1minutes but i still didn't see her bending down in curve taking in the spermatophore as told by my friend

At least she stay on it longer this time, i will not proceed to mate them again and see how it goes 1st

The break off was a fierce battle between them both and my tweezer Luckily both separated unharmed (Well maybe my tweezer was hurt lolz)

I mated them few days ago when i first got the male but it fail

Both are juddering but male doesnt seems to be interested while the female tried to attack the male several times

After 15minutes i gave up and assume that the female already gravid

I separated them and feed each of them a cricket and heavily misted their enclosure

Few days later (Today) i tried again and this time with better luck

At 1st the female acted aggressively and try to sting him, i stop it with my tweezer

Then the male gave her a sting to calm her down and they start dancing around, passionately

Female keep her chela close to her carapace as in defense mode while the male pulling her around nervously

Within 2 minutes, the male settle down on a spot on the bark in the enclosure and stop there for quite awhile

I look from the side and i can see spermatophore coming out from his opperculum

Upon laying the spermatophore, he dragged the female on it but the female kinda refuse to go near the spermatophore

After trying for awhile the male manage to pull her above the spermatophore

Again i tried to peek from the side to see if it touched her opperculum but before i can see anything they started break off and attempting to sting and pinch each others to death

Immediately i stop them with tweezer and fight off the female and end the mating process

I'm not sure if any insemination was made but the female doesnt stay on top of it for too long nor bending down her body as written in the internet

I assume that she might really already gravid but was calmed by the male sting and was "forced" into the mating

I read that the spermatophore will plug the opening of her opperculum to prevent other male from inseminate her if she already mated

Perhaps she realize that she cant take the spermatophore at the end and tried to break off and kill the male

Whatever it is i'm looking forward to see the outcome

Last week while going for lunch in my working area, i flipped a rock on the ground was surprised to see 2 Cormocephalus sp centipede there

I don't have container and tweezer with me at that time so i just leave them

After having my lunch, i went to nearby store to buy a candy with a nice cylinder container and a tweezer to catch it later

Unfortunately i only manage to find one when i got back and manage to catch it with the help of my friend

When going back home, i went there again to try to search for more but i found a Geophilmorpha instead

At 1st glimpse, i thought it's some kind of worm until i notice the amount of segments and legs it have LOL

This guy is funny. It's slow and will move forward and backward when u tease it

Catching it is easy, i went back home after that

Did some research and found out that the Geophilmorpha eat burrowing earthworms or other smaller arthropod in the substrate

I couldn't think of anything to feed it so i release it back the next day

The Cormocephalus sp i gave it to a friend

Hope he will take good care of it

On the otther hand, yesterday i went out at night with a friend to try searching for pedes at her neighbor house lol

I got a Haplopelma Albostriatum and 3 Lychas Mucronatus from two different trade recently

Love them so much, the pattern and marking from both of them are awesome and stunning!

Aside from that, i found a really nice 2section microwave container in my kitchen and used it for my C.Margaritatus

What a good day, early in the morning received a call from Rafiqos telling me a local pet shop is selling Pandinus Imperator scorpion

Was damm excited for the whole day because the price is good and reasonable

Evening received his call telling me that his friend bought 3 for us and ask me to go to his friend place with him to collect them

Was surprise to see they sell Pandinus Cavimanus too and his friend bought one so i bought it from him

I went back home and found more happy news

1st is that one of my Hot.Hottentotta baby molted, 5 more to go

2nd, one of my Centruroides Vittatus molted, it was unexpected as they just molted to 3rd instar few weeks ago

3rd, one of my Centruroides Margaritatus molted to 5instar! This is totally unexpected, i thought that it's just refusing food for some odd reason

This is indeed a good day for me and i'm happy

New addiction! Centruroides Vittatus!

Received 5 of my Centruroides Vittatus from Rafiqos yesterday

They are all in a big communal setup with a lot of small bark chips and a bigger piece of bark at a corner, misted one one side leaving the other side dry

Really nice to see them all running together, they are everywhere!

According to him they do very well in such setup and all of them molted perfectly

He also bought along a multi section container box which have label from monday-sunday for the 5 vittatus that i picked out

So they are all named based on the day they are placed in the container

Upon reaching home on the next day, i rehoused them all in a bigger container as advised by rafiqos

Found a half eaten vittatus on saturday's container O_O

Guess its either cannibalis or killed by ants while they are still with my friend

To play safe, i housed them all individually, as advised by rafiqos too

H1N1 Symptom

Yesterday while taking rail transit, i felt kinda cold inside the train

While going for lunch later, i felt pain in my throat and not long after that i got flu

Felt dizzy on the way back to home and when i tried to sleep at midnight, i can feel my body heat getting hotter, fever approaching

Wear jacket, put on blanket and turn off the fan to let all the heat come out from my sweat

7am went for medical check up, on the way i feel like vomitting and slight chest pain

I throw up when doctor inserted the thermometer under my tongue

Result is i got light fever, 99 fahrenheit, not sure if it's H1N1 or not but i think i got it

Went back home, straight away sleep, when woke up i felt much better, no more fever

Eat a bread and all the medicine, felt tired and sleep again

Woke up again at around 9pm and felt even better, but coughing a lil bit

Let's see howw it turns out in the future

Well, i don't wanna die as virgin :(

I still want to read the ending of naruto, bleach and one piece and enjoy the exotic hobby to the fullest =(

Weekly Update

This week:

- A V.Spinigerus that im taking care behalf of a friend died

- My other Centruroides Margaritatus molted to 4th instar

- Bought new mealworms and crickets batch

- Bought a new container with 6 separated section

Well just came back from work yesterday and found my friend V.Spinigerus died

I'm not sure why, it's not eating but was very active all this while but just died mysetriously yesterday

The whole body is stiff, unlike most of my dead scorpion, possibly dehydration?
The last time it was fed is on around 30July which is 22days without eating anything

It really bother me because this is not my scorpion, i understand the feeling of losing a scorpion hence i'm worry to tell this to the owner but luckily he didn't blame me on this (Thx rideon)

This got me worry a lot because a lot of my scorpion have been dying on me, i'm starting to doubt if i really still have the time to take care of them like i used to be before i start working

I did paid more attention to my inverts after having so many death recently but looks like i need to be more alert next time...

If there is any scorpion dying on me due to my negligence, i might as well stop purchasing more scorpion and send some of them to someone who can take good care of them

Hopefully i don't need to do that....

Well, aside from that my C.Margaritatus molted which is a good sign

Even though they are fast grower from what i read, but mine are definitely not :(

So it's my off day again

What happened during this week was:
- 2 more H.Hottentotta sling dead

- Bought some crickets and feed every invert

- Start breeding crickets

- Bought new bedding and food for my hamster

- Adult H.Hottentotta died

Well the adult H.Hottentotta death is predicted as she have been acting very sluggish after giving birth

She catched prey, sting them and munching them in her chelicarae but it always end up she drop them on floor uneaten at the end

Perhaps she is too old already, but thanks a lot, i got a brood from her

On 3 August morning i received a sms from Dennis telling me that his female Regalis have eaten Sam during mating attempt

I loaned Sam to Dennis for a breeding loan with his two female earlier

He spend one night with each female and at the morning spending a night with the 2nd female he got eaten

Whether is there any insection or not remain mystery, we will have to wait for the time to tell

Im happy if its a success mating, he will make me proud if he came in 2 female before he passed away =p

Anyway i guess its his fate, he is dying from old age so its better if he die under the fang of female while attempting to breed him then dying alone at the corner of his old enclosure

I hope if i can get babies from him i will setup a communal setup for 5 of them, hopefully things turn out well

A day without work

Finally there is a off day for me after being busy with work recently

One day off everyweek is just not sufficient for someone who have 60+ inverts to take care

Spend whole day maintaining my inverts

My room have become like a microwave recently, the weather is hot here, i'm worried bout my bark scorpion especially my R.Junceus because a friend of mine lost a lot of his barkie recently

I'm relieve that none of mine met the grimreaper yet, and to my surprise one of my C.Margaritatus molted!

Everyone's else have molted except for mine, so happy to see it molt, but the other one is still yet to molt

My Curly Hair tarantula that i got from Dennis have outgrow its enclosure and in pre molt so i rehouse it to a bigger container, hopefully it will be comfortable there and molt in no time

My centipede (Scolopendra Subspinepis) is thirsty, luckily this guy is very hardy, i'm glad that it make it through the dry days (My bad)

Bad news is that i found 2 dead Hottentotta Hottentotta baby. I found that the mom love to stay one the damp area so i thought i should keep the babies a lil damper but looks like i overdid it...

Animals Wonder, Insect Week at Jaya One, Palm Square

Last Saturday and Sunday, there is a exhibition in Jaya One, Palm Square
Though its the insect week, but the area was dominated by arachnid instead, the only insect i saw was the Jungle Nymph
Majority was Tarantulas and Scorpions
Well, not much educating on that day, most of the people just came and "Yer... So geli" and walked away although i tried to greet them and talk to them
More like a freak show, hopefully we can overcome the problem where we can encourage people to ask more question rather than just come and go in the next exhibition....

At least i have a lot of fun chatting with fellow hobbyist there and finally i met the guy with balls of steal, Ken aka freeloader
As usual, met a lot of people with different attitude, some like to show off, some curious, some was so paranoid and keep swearing at our inverts

Saw some handling of scorpion as well though i think it's a very bad habit (No offense)
People will get the wrong idea that scorpions are pets for u to handle when they saw it
A few of them came to me and asked why they can be handle when they are so dangerous
Personally i'm against handling of scorpion especially during exhibition, sorry to be frank but this is just what i think
I do occasionally handled my AFS at home once in a blue moon, gotta admit it's tempting but IMHO just keep it for yourself is good enough
Different scorpion have different personality, sometimes accident might happen where they sting/pinched the handler and if that happen it will only make the public who saw the incident get more bad impression bout scorpions

Overall it's a good experience in the exhibition, enjoy chatting with fellow hobbyist and thanks Darren for giving me 24 free jungle nymph eggs to incubate although they need more than a year to hatch :p

Fucking bad month

In just 11days, i lost 6 of my invert!

1st Androctonus Australis, follow by Orang Baboon Tarantula, Tityus Stigmurus, Parabuthus Pallidus ,Isometrus Maculatus and finally my Rhysida Longipes centipede!

A.Australis died from bad molt, OBT tarantula from oversized mealworm, Tityus Stigmurus unknown but suspect to be dehydration, P.Pallidus suspect to be old age, Isometrus Maculatus perhaps dehyration too but its eating a pin head cricket the last night before it passed away zzzzzzz and Rhysida Longipes for the same reason

I have been busy recently with all the outings, convocation, interview and my job, that's why i tend to neglect them and forgot to check on them when i got home everyday

I'm not trying to find excuse for my irresponsible act but i just want everyone know what is going on

I ll put extra attension on my invert from today onward, i cant afford to lose anymore...

The only good news aside from the dead is my Rhopalurus Junceus molted to a female adult

Hopefully i can find her a male soon so i can have some babies from her to ease my sadness from the lost...

3days after the H.Hottentotta babies molted to 2nd instar finally they started to leave the mother

I separated them and found one dead on the mother's back

Total of 19babies+3dead, not bad, more than i have expected

Aside from that, i was surprised to find one of my suppose to be sub adult Liocheles Australasiae gave birth to 9babies! O_O

She is so small compare to an adult specimen that give me a brood last time

Just one day after that i found one molted to 2nd isntar with the rest follow up in the next 2days

Only 6survived as i only counted 6 of them in 2nd instar and they are now ready to be separate

After having my adult Hottentotta Hottentotta for 17days, finally she popped and gave birth to a bunch of tiny puny

Not as much as i expected but still enough to satisfy me haha

According to the seller the last time she popped is about 6-9months ago and her last brood already reach 5th instar

I tried trigger the birth by misting the enclosure and it really work, in just 2days doing it she popped

Amazingly they only took 4days to molt to 2nd instar, i still have to wait till they get down from the mom before calculating them but i have roughly around 10-15 babies

Most of them will be keep by myself or trade to others experienced hobbyist cause i want to ensure they have higher survival rate so we can have more babies in the future and we will not need to import them in anymore in the future

After 14days of struggling to keep up living, finally Madoka who stucked in her last molt decided to give up living

She passed away peacefully on this rainy morning...

She have been doing well for this few days until last 2days when i noticed she got weaker

I didn't expect she will passed away so fast....

May she rest in peace...

Good days or bad days?

Yesterday when i woke up i checked on my Liocheles Australasiae (2instar) communal tank and found this

One of the freshly molted was being mass cannibalism by its tankmate

I heard that L.Australasiae are more communal when they are still sling, looks like i was wrong

Feel damm sad because i don't have much babies left with me...

Gotta separate them.....

After this bad incident, i got a huuuuuugeeee surprise!

I uncover my Hottentotta Hottentotta hide and found her with babies on her back!

This really made my days, although the brood are not as much as i expected but i'm glad she doesn't abort her eggs like many others keeper experienced

I counted roughly 15-20babies with some inferterlized eggs where the mom are eating them

I woke up in the morning today and found another bad incident happened, my OBT died!

Killed by a oversized mealworm that i throw inside its container yesterday

I thought that it can overpower and eat it but somehow i was wrong and the predator became the prey

I throw the fucking mealworm in front of my Leiurus Quinquestriatus and watch it being eaten and suffer in agony

Serve it right, should have crush his fucking brain before feeding it

Like yesterday, bad incident usually follow up by a good event, my Grammostola Rosea molted

She is so much bigger now, one of the legs that have been missing due to bad molt regenerated and it looks so funny having a miniature legs :p

I sexed it and turn out to be female, just as i expected, hope she can matured soon

Pets World Day Arachnid Exhibition

There is a small tarantula booth in the Pets World Day on 3-5 of July and i was there to help out too

During the whole 3days i learned alot and see different people, curious, funny, wise, arrogant, ignorant etc

Thanks Andrew and Dennis for correcting my mistake and taught me new stuff bout tarantulas so i didn't give the wrong information to the public

It was a tiring days but its all worth for it, expecting the next exhibition

I met with alot of forumer that i never meet before as well as knowing some new great friend

Also there is a guy that pissed me off so much

He bought a scorpion (H.Spinifer) from my friend's booth and request for it sting to be clipped

Saying that his friend will handle it in very rough method and will be safer if it cannot sting

No matter how i convince him that it should not be handle and his friend is not suitable for scorpion but he just won't listen and have it clipped at last

Seriously his friend should just get a hamster instead of a scorpion

I hope his girl will ask for cutting off his balls to prevent her from underage pregnant, just like what he did for the scorpion

Update of my Androctonus Australis

Still alive and kicking, the 2pair of legs behind seems to be not functioning

She still looks weak but got a lil bit stronger since the 1st day

Hopefully she will be able to walk on her own pretty soon and survive till adulthood and give me some babies =p

Aside from that, i have my 1st haircut in 2009 just now

Androctonus Australis molting problem

Well, i came back from my friend's house just now and found that my Androctonus Australis is molting

I was excited and keep on watching it but i'm getting worry as it show no improvement for around 3hours

I'm worrying if it might get stuck and if i leave it till morning i will wake up with a dead scorpion stuck in its old exo so i decided to help it...

I don't know if i'm doing the right thing but i can't just leave it like that

There are 2 part which are stuck badly in the old exo which is the left chela and 4th and 5th metasoma

For the chela i tried cracking the old exoskeleton with tweezer but not successful because i cant find any gap to stuck in the tweezer to crack it

I then apply a drop of water on it and wait for awhile before attempting to pull it out with my hand (The telson are still stuck inside so it can't sting me)

It came out easily with that mehod

Next is the metasoma, the same thing happen where i cant find a gap to slide in my tweezer

I notice a small gap behind the metasoma so i flip it over and tried to slide in a needle carefully and crack it from the inside and then pull it out with a tweezer

Things goes well and it is now free from the exoskeleton but im still worrying as i need to wait a few days before i can really confirm it will be alright

Now its staying at a corner with legs that looks badly twisted, probably going to lose few of it

I hope it will be ok

Packing Scorpion (Straw Method)

This is a method of packing scorpion using straw that i learnt from ROBC's youtube channel

I decided to use it for the 2nd time to post the 2instar Centruroides Margaritatus for a friend since they are very small and this method are most suitable for them

Checklist

1. Tissue

2. Sprayer

3. Scissor

4. Straw

5. Scorpion

(Opss, sprayer missing in the picture)

First, cut the straw into small piece and stuck in a damp tissue like this

Then place it in front of the scorpion and gently push them inside

Give it a blow into the straw to ensure the scorpion stay at the bottom

Stuck in another damp tissue on the other side and done

Next, get a vial, put some tissue at the bottom and side

Put in all straw, close it, make ventilation holes on cover

Put it in a box with absorbent

Seal the box and put in a larger box with newspaper for padding

Close it, seal the box, wrap it, write address and done =p

New Sugar Glider Cage!

Finally i got a suitable cage for my Sugar Glider (Jelly) after around 2weeks having her in a small temporary bird cage :(

Jelly was rescued by a kind soul name Reanne from a breeder who gave her up because she can't produce healthy offspring

She was caged in a small and terrible environment cage with even mold growing in the enclosure!

When Reanne adopted her from the breeder she is even having 2 babies in the pouch, only one of them make it through though...

For some personal matter, Reanne can no longer take care of Jelly and was in a hurry to adopt her out before her dad throw her away from home so i adopted her before preparing the cage and basic stuff (I apologize to all SG lover)

Anyway, all was history now and she is with me, i will try my very best to take care of her

Currently trying to bond with her but the last time when i tried body bonding with her she won't stay on me and jumping off instead

Perhaps she need more times, i will try my best

Woke up in the morning today and have a shock to see my parcel arrived and is placed beside my bed by my sis

I straight away jump up from my bed and unwrap it in rush, damm excited

because i really din expect i ll receive it today
The box was badly dented and i'm expecting some death on arrival but to my surprise every piece of the scorpion is alive and kicking!
The only bad news is i only received 9 free Centruroides Margariatus which its suppose to be 20, but nevermind cause i the seller are generous enough to sent me an extra Hottentotta Polystictus :p

Few days ago i dumped some leftover papaya+watermelon from my glider into my mealworm container cause don't want to waste them

Checked the container yesterday and found out its awfully smelly and the humidity released by those fruit make the mealworm's poo clumped together

Some died from it, others plumped up and rolling around lol....

Awful smell+sight, i end up spending more than 1hours to clean these shit by removing them 1by1 into a new container

I have more than 500 mealworm i think...

Awful sight should be share among reader, though u all can't smell it

Few weeks ago i found it moving like a drunkard and when i try teasing it with a tweezer it started to act strangly and i notice it became very weak

At 1st i suspect he might have suffer from dyskinetic syndrome but i cant recall that i use any chemical stuff in my room and its weird cause he is the only invert in my whole collection that showing such symptom

I got so worry bout him and even prepared a container to preserve him in my freezer if he pass away but to my surprise, on 26th May, just after i finish moving back to my hometown i found that he molted!

I was so happy as i expected it to die but it molted, guess i worry too much

Now 1week after he molted, he started to show his stunning golden like coloration just like the one rafiqos posted in his flickr album

I love him to death now, here are some pictures to share

Just now while surfing the internet i notice Nadare (R.Junceus) is shaking its metasoma violently from side to side while walking on a piece of vertical bark

At first i thought something is wrong with her until she begin positioning herself vertially and placed both of her chela in front of its carapace

Straight away, i noticed she is going to molt and i immediately spray some water on the wall of the tank as the substrate are pretty dried up, my bad :(

She was purchased for a breeding project with few of my other friends hoping that we can get hold of this beautiful species in our country in the future without importing them

Just one more molt to go and she is ready to have some sexy time!
